Need Christmas gift ideas for kids?? It’s now time for yet another occassion to worry over, what do you get for kids who spend all day face deep in screens?
Either they’ll never play with their new toys as they can’t take their face out of their screens or they play for 5 minutes and get bored.
This age of click entertainment has a lot to answer for.
Kids don’t play anymore, they Whatsapp or Snapchat!
Well I’m here to help.
Here Are Some Christmas Gift Ideas Your Kids Will Love
Ones that we have and ones the kids would LOVE.
They consistantly choose these over their screens, phones, tablets and the rest.
So give them a go and you’ll be the best parent EVER this Christmas!!
My Fairy Garden- Tree Hollow. Bring the outdoors inside with this Christmas Gift.
We’ve really enjoyed planting and watering the Fairy Tree Hollow this summer.
The Instructions were really clear and the project was a great learning opportunity for our daughter.
The seeds included only took a few days to sprout so there’s not a huge wait for something to happen. It makes it easier to encourage kids to watch the growth progress.
My daughter had so much fun planting, watering trimming and playing with it. As soon as the seeds had finished growing we had a lovely trip to the garden centre to get more seeds.
She chose pretty flowers and salad leaves so she could eat what she grew and it would look pretty too.
My daughter has a little patch in the flower border she calls her Fairy Glen.
She sits tucked in there playing with her Fairy Hollow.
Try Not To Laugh Challenge Book- Brilliant Christmas Gift
If your kids are like mine, they love the “Try not to laugh” Youtube videos. If so they will love this book!!
It is awesome. The questions this book poses the reader are fantastic.
I ordered this for my 9 year old niece and we had an absolute blast going through it together later.00% recommend this book for anyone with kids of ANY age.
This book is food for the imagination: the situations/scenarios will get a kids off their screens and using their mind and their chuckle muscles.
The price is most definitely right, too !! You can’t go wrong with this book
Outdoor Explorer Kit. A Fantastic Christmas Gift Idea
Kids Binoculars Set with Compass, Magnifying Glass, Butterfly Net for 3-12 Year Old Boys and Girls, Kids Telescope Adventure Kit Children Outdoor Educational Kit (22PCS)
My 3 year old got this for his birthday a month ago and he hasn’t put it down since.
Whether it’s peeking through binoculars to watch the birds in the garden, or catching bugs crawling around the soil we’ve had so many fun adventures.
It has encouraged us to spend more time outside, bark rubbing, looking for tracks and yes even looking at bird poop. Bleugh!
You can’t beat this set if it’s screen free adventure you need!
Grow Your Own Pizza Garden Set.
A fantastic set that includes everything you need to plant and grow basil, peppers, oregano and tomatoes; just add water.
There is also an easy to follow recipe sheet to help you make and bake your own homeade pizza to put your toppings on.
Three activities in one: decorating, gardening and cooking. The kids loved doing this one!
I mean who doesn’t LOVE pizza!!
Fur Real Cubby, The Curious Bear.
This is an interactive plush toy is a dream companion for kids aged 4 and up – one who’ll excitedly take part in all their adventures and snuggle next to them at the end of the day.
This is on the list for my AJ this year!
Cubby is a curious young cub, and is eager to be picked up and held (he hugs you back), play peek-a-boo, and even dance from time to time, let’s not forget snack time.
It’s a wonderful way to bring back real play and let your kids interact with a friend.
Feed him his bottle or treat and he’ll make eating sounds. He’s a chatty little bear too, he babbles back when he’s spoken to.
In night-time mode, this cutie closes his eyes, makes sleepy sounds and plays one of four 5-minute sequences of soft music.
Sweet dreams, cubby. With moving eyes, nose, and mouth, his face is delightfully expressive – a totally loveable cub! Fur Real and all related properties are trademarks of Hasbro.
Hatch And Train Your Very Own Baby Dragon Toothless.
Now you can have your own piece of How to Train Your Dragon.
The Hidden World of Toothless comes to life with light-up eyes, movements and interactive sounds, become the best of friends with Hatching Toothless as you teach him how to fly and plasma blast, feed him and play games with him.
My daughter loves her original Hatchimal so she can’t wait to have her own Toothless!!.
Juno Baby Elephant
This toy is amazing. It’s an amazing baby elephant that comes with some accessories, a little magnet that sticks to the end of the trunk and allows the elephant to throw them around and kiss them.
Juno toots and sneezes and sings songs.
Easy for kids for all ages to use because she has a button on her back.
She also has sensors so when you pet her she does different things. Mine also didn’t come with instructions so I don’t know how to teach it things yet but the possibiltirs are endless.
You should be able to teach her how to do things so it may be better for an older kid that understands these things.
If your kid likes animatronic animals I highly suggest this. Juno will put herself to sleep when you don’t play with her. Too cute!!
This is like the bead projects we made as a kids, but way cooler.
Kids can select the picture they want to do and put the beads on (kinda like Beados).
After you are done you take the frame out to iron the beads.
There is an SD card that comes with it (and a case, which is AWESOME) that has many projects to do. My son is so excited to try the different ones.
There is a wide range of activities to suit different abilities and interests including some 3D designs to try.
My 8 year old daughter LOVED watching this grow.
The light on it was helpful for at night and the plants grew fast and very tall. It comes with grass to grow so you can make the complete eco system, but you can add different seeds as you learn and grow.
So there’s our top toys for this Christmas. Any toy that can successfully remove a screen from your childs face is a win for me.
Kids need the pretend play and interaction from toys not screens and these toys will work a treat!
Save this for later !
