The Best Gardening Kits For Kids

Share With Your Friends!!

Soon we’ll all be buying this years latest toys our kids MUST HAVE.

With 3 kids, space if tight. We usually end up throwing out or reselling last years haul of gifts that have sat untouched on shelves all year just to make room for this years gifts.

  • How does that make sense??
  • Why do we encourage this is our kids?

Giant amounts of clutter and waste for a quick fix of excitement and then hundreds of tiny bits that get lost in the first 5 minutes. They never get played with again.

Well this mamma has had enough of this silliness.

Why Not Try Gardening Kits For Kids?

This year, I’m buying useful gifts for my kids. Ones that carry a life lesson, new experience or useful skill attached such as;

  • New tools for our plot
  • A canoeing lesson on the local river
  • A new bike so we can explore our area.

But kids still want to have the fun of ripping open gifts on christmas morning, so what do we do?

Firstly, download my Gardening Activities Ebook for some fun garden activities to encourage kids to get outdoors.

We had so much fun with this kit.

Fairy gardens are a great gift to encourage the kids outdoors. A wonderful gardening kit for kids

We made our fairy garden kit up and placed it at the base of our beech tree and put fairy doors dotted around the trees.

The kids spend a long time either knocking doors to speak to the fairies or pretending to be one.

Homemade fairy doors in the garden.

The only downside to this set would be the plate could have been larger but it was a great imagination starter.

In the end the grass seed was a bit patchy so we replaced it with a small piece of astro turn we had left from another project.

Every child loves kid sized versions of parents stuff. Trying to encourage them to dig with adult tools can put them off helping at all.

A children’s gardening starter kit is a brilliant idea.

It Includes sturdy tote bag, A watering can, gloves, shovels, rake, and a delightful children’s book.

  • The gloves are thick and last a long time. They wash really well too although they do get a bit crispy as they dry but a good shake usually does the trick.
